Installing Drywall on Walls and Ceiling after water damage?

I plan on helping a friend who is hoping to cut costs doing drywall on ceilings and walls in an 18 x 10 foot room and the ceiling only in a 18 x 35 foot room. The professional costs seem to be too steep, but now I'm wondering if I may be getting myself in for more then it's worth. I'd like to know what a pro would charge someone to do this? This would also include replacing the insulation since there was water damage from a roof leak. Additionally there is a closet and 1 wall in the 3rd room that needs the same repairs. Is $5000 too cheap or too much for this job and would that include the material costs?

You're only talking about two days for two guys to insulate and hang the board.
The cost of material will vary from by location, go to a material supply house and do the math.

It sound like a high price. Was there more than one estimate? If all estimates are similiar there may be more work to do than you realize.
