I am posting 2 pictures of what I want to achieve.

This kind of finish.
Can somebody give me some directions of what I will possibly need ?
I would greatly appreciate any tips and suggestions.
Thanks.

It appears to be sprayed on builder-grade popcorn ceiling. I know that they cell patching stuff, but I don't know that you can achieve that same look w/out a sprayer. It is not considered a faux finish. It's generally used to quickly and easily cover any flaws in the ceiling drywall, and to cover taping w/o skim coating, sanding, etc.

this looks to be a "popcorn" ceiling. you can buy the special textured ceiling paint at your local DIY store like HD or lowes or another. They usually come in three kinds... smooth, sand and popcorn. Get the popcorn bucket and start rolling. I just did mine with smooth and made swirl patterns.

Have you had this sort of ceiling before? Most people want to get rid of the "popcorn" look. It's hard to keep clean and if damaged hard to match. IMO you're better off going with a patterned textured ceiling or just a flat painted one.
