Ceiling Texture

I have a textured Ceiling that I need to repair (and clean in some spots). So I am selling the house and didn't want to have to buy a special brush to make this texture if I didn't have to.

What material (spackling?) is used to make this textured look (see pic)?

How much are these brushes that are used to get this texture?

Is there a way to texture the repair area without buying one of these brushes?

Is there an easy way to clean these types of Ceilings?

Unless the drywall is weak you don't need to retexture what I see in the photo. The water stain needs to be painted with a solvent based primer and then touched up with ceiling paint. This stain can not be removed but can be painted over. There really is no good way to clean textured ceilings [other than removing cobwebs] they are usually repainted when they become dirty.

You have fixed the source of the leak - right?
