Weird wall texture

We are looking at a house that has a very different type of wall texture. the only way that I can describe it is to say that it looks like the meringue on top of chocolate or lemon meringue pies. It is very prominent and I love the house but really think that it needs to be changed. Is there anyway to sand it down or to scrape it down a little. I don't want the texture to all go away I just don't want it to be so sharp looking.
thank you for any help!!!!

Welcome to the forums

I think I know what type of texture you are looking at [I'm not fond of it either] Providing you can do so evenly, you can scrape the tops of the texture off making it less prominent.

If it doesn't come out as well as you expect/hope you can float joint compound over the wall to make it slick after the wall has been scraped.
