Fasten sheetrock to cinderblocks/concrete

I am installing sheetrock on cement/cinder block wall 8 ft by 28 ft.What is the procedure for this install? Strap with 1 by 4 [no electrical outlets] using Hilti ramset fastener or liquid nails directly to the wall.I Am sealing it first with a good primer.What are the pros & cons of the options,or are there any other methods? I looked through past posts didnt find any answers I shure this has been asked befor thnx for any help on this Irv

I would add a 6 mil plastic vapor barrrier on the block before installing the strapping. Attach at the top and the strapping will hold it in place. The ramset is the way to go on the strapping.

When I lived in fla [many homes are block] they always attached the fur strips, insulate [unfaced] between strips and then added the plastic. I don't know which way is correct or best - just how I've always seen it done.
