Load berring wall?

My house is an older cinder block house. There was a room addition put on 25 years ago. I was hoping I would be able to remove a portion of the wall between the addition and the original house. The wall is 15ft by 9ft. It has a doorway in it already but i would like to open that doorway up just to open up the house more, maybe make the doorway 9 or 10ft instead of 3ft like it is now. Would that be safe to do and is it ok to take that much away from a cinder block wall? Thanks

Nick

Without seeing it, it would be impossible to answer your question adequetly. The best advice anyone can give you is to have your wall inspected by your local building inspector or a structural engineer. They can look at it and tell you how to move forward with your project. Good Luck
