Question Measuring Stairwell For Wallpaper

Can anybody tell me how to measure up for wallpaper on a stairwell. My stairwell is huge, goes like this :

Up a flight, half landing, up a few stairs along a landing, up another flight of stairs, another half landing, up another flight of stairs.

I am planning to use an expensive feature wall wallpaper on only on the one side, which includes a very long drop of the top floor, after that the height is managable.

I just don't know how best to calculate the rolls I need, as the paper is very expensive I don't want to buy more than I have too

I would appreciate some help !

If I remember correctly...just measure the dimensions of each of your walls and let the wall covering store do the calculations. Some papers that have a pattern, need a certain "offset" which they should know.

You are getting it from a specialty store I hope? Will they take back extras if they do the calculations?

No, I am buying the wallpaper from the manufacture, they have some agents but not in my area, it is an English Heritage Wallpaper and matches the period of my house (Georgian). So it is only available from the manufacturer or another one line store. We don't have specialist wallpaper shops here.

Actually Gunguy45, I think yu are right, so I've emailed the manufacturer (they did send sample and repeat length), and asked them how I calculate the number or rolls required and asked if they take back any unused rolls.

Thanks for your reply
