Kitchen ceiling remodel

Have a 1957 general trailer had roof leak-ceiling has
two pinrods holding part of ceiling-have to remove those before i can take old ceiling area out. Plus its near a heater vent that is round. Any suggestions???

Not sure just what you are asking?

Wouldn't you just tear it out all or in part and then replace as needed?
Don't forget to fix the roof leak first!

Cost to expand my garage?

Hi all My house currently has a one car garage - house was built in the 50s - and I would like to expland the garage to a 2 car. As you can see, there is a storage shed that could be used as a garage but what id really like to do is expand the current attached garage over the concrete that is already there. The house is brick veneer I believe so I think if I could knock down the side brick wall and save all the bricks so I could just use those bricks again on the new outer side wall. So what I'm wondering is if I acutally COULD just expand the garage out to the side over the existing concrete and then reroof the garage and how much that would possibly cost. thanks aaron

Is this a load bearing wall? HELP!

Hello everyone, right now im in the process of remodeling my kitchen. I want to take out the wal in between my kitchen and my dining room. When I bought the house the inspector said it was a non-load bearing wall. When I pulled all the drywall off I noticed 2 2x4's back to back up top. I once read in a HD 123 book that load bearing walls have 2 2x4's up top and a non-loading bearing wall has only 1 2x4 up top. I took some picture of the situation and I think its a non-load bearing wall. The inspector (i called him back) said I need to keep a header up top so the joists dont move around in heavy winds.
