bi-fold door quandry

hi all,
we have a shelf area in our laundry room that I want to enclose with bifold doors. I've just discovered that the ceiling joists run the same way as I'd need to hang the door track and of course, the track needs to go right between two joists. I'm not up for cutting out the drywall to install blocking. can I hang bi-fold doors (two 24" doors) with molly bolts just in the drywall? I'm afraid they'll pull through

thanks
mark

The upper track for bifolds just acts as a guide...mollys or toggles (those would prob be my choice) should be fine. The weight of the door is on the L bracket at the floor.
