hi there I just moved into a 20 year old home and I have real cedar paneled walls the previous owners stained and lightly sealed, only problem is where some of their paintings and furniture were there is some discoloration from the light & the fireplace and it's driving me crazy
so I was wondering how would I go about making the walls look brand new again?

Welcome to the forums!
That's a fairly common occurance when wood gets different amounts of UV exposure. I'm not sure there is a good solution other than stripping the affected boards, sanding and refinishing
I have occasionally tinted some poly/varnish and painted the light areas with it [works best with spray gun] which will help to make it blend but I suspect those areas might age darker than the rest of the wood. The only times I've done this is when sprucing up an empty house for sale.
