the material of wall panel

Hi marksr, the panel was from Home depot, I got no idea what material is. about 1/16" inch thick, 4'x8'. 32 bucks a piece. on the receipt, it says "4X8 W-panel. I check the bar code number online, it comes the same.
The staff there told me this material is water proof. Certainly it is made of plastic. I am going to use it to cover shower wall. The inner corners the two panels meet can easily be finished by caulking, but there are several outer corners that I do not know how to finish. For drywall, there is corner finish, I guess there must be something similar.
Thanks.

Sounds like FRP..does it have a bumpy finish? They make inside and outside corners as well as edge strips. One of those should work, though you will need to caulk the joint between it and sheetrock. You might also be able to use one of the synthetic (polystyrene) mouldings to cover the joint and paint it. You may not get a smooth transition..but if you make it like you intended to do it, it can look ok.

Thanks Gunguy, the surface is bumpy. I tried to use a heat gun to see if I can soft the sheet at the corner so that I may bend it. it turned out that even the material became so hot and the color had changed to yellowish, it remained straight.

Is it the same company who makes the corners? and where to buy? The guy I bought the W-panel in home depot did not know at all when I asked him the same questions.

The few that I've seen used always finished up the edges with caulking.

Your panel is called FRP (fiberglass reinforced panel) like Gunguy 45 said. They sell all of the trim pieces at home depot.

Yep, it depends on how the store is layed out, but normally they are right near the panels, or near the paneling. One of the people in Windows and Doors should know where it is, thats the dept that stocked it in my area.

If it's already been installed, then you may as well caulk it as mark said. The trim needs to be put on as the panels go up. The edge cap can be put on last normally, unless the edges were glued tight.
