removed shingles, tar paper, what now?

Our 1950's house has an enclosed room between the garage & house, we decided to make it a real room and spent the morning pulling off the shingles. Now we have one wall of shiplap and another flat wall of tar paper over boards. Any suggestions on what to put over the tar paper? It's the garage wall.
Or over the shiplap for that matter?

Now's the time to add receptical boxes and a two way switch, if needed. I believe you need type X wallboard there unless you already have it in the garage for fire code. Hopefully you can cut the door jambs narrower to match the wallboard and add casing. It should be a fire rated door as the room is now living space. Depends on the space as to if it needs heat and natural light/ventilation. Be safe, G
