Remodel ceiling with wood panels??
Remodeling an older home with wood panels and need suggestions/advice.
Use of (smaller) beams in the same 12x12 room? Wood panel on ceiling, wood floors - too much wood?
Recommendation for the wood for the ceiling - interlocking bead boards? The new wood laminates for flooring - can that be used? Beadboard paneling?
Existing wood trim is painted - does it have to be stripped and stained or can paint live with all the wood?
Room has a corner fireplace - I'd like to build a feature wall above that may include a light using and would welcome suggestions.
Thanks.

My son has a house that has no drywall. The walls and ceiling are T&G 1x6 pine with a poly finish. The crown moulding, baseboard and door trim are all painted mdf trim. It looks nice, one of the reasons he bought the house.
If you use bead board paneling or plywood on the ceiling you should use some type of moulding [maybe 1x4] to hide the joints - especially at the 4' ends.
