How to fix a whole wall? HELP

After taken down wallpaper I was left with a wall that was brown with alot of indentions on it. Looks like the glue riped of the drywall. From what i can tell is this wall was never pained and it looks like the top layer of drywall was taken off and wallpaper was put up to hide it. It was sappouse to be fixed when we had the room painted, but it was never fixed. so now it has paint on it. Is there a way to fix a whole wall or would it be better to put up new dry wall?

Welcome to the forums!

It should be repairable. You need to 1st prime the wall with either a solvent basd primer or zinnser's gardz. This will lock down any remaining adhesive and prevent moisture [in paint or j/c] from bubbling up any loose drywall paper. Once dry you can fill in the dents. The wall may benifit from a thin skim coat of joint compound.
