closing off a loft

closing off a loft

what is the best way to close off a loft and put a door i think putting up a false wall, but does anyone know if they have prebuilt frames.it will be just one wall with a door no load bearing at all

its simple to explain the loft looks like a room with three complete walls like a square was wanting to add another wall with a door so i can make it into a room, just needing tips on how to start the floor is carpeted

Not sure I understand what you mean by "prebuilt frames"

You can erect a wall for the open side but since it overlooks the room below, you wouldn't put a door in that wall.

It is simple to explain, since you are standing there looking at it. We aren't. There are too many factors involved, like the carpet, the existing balustrade, type ceiling, for us to just give you a go ahead without some sort of information. You can build a wall on the cliff side, as well as the door side, framing in for the door, but you need to consider electrical on any wall more than 2' in length, so that's why we want to look at it.
