Removing drop ceiling under pipes

I am improving on an old house and the kitchen has a drop ceiling. Id like to remove the drop ceiling but right above the kitchen the previous owners installed a bathtub. Would it be save to remove the drywall but leave an access panel to the bath tub pipes? Or is there a better option?

Its always nice to have access to pipes if an access panel doesnt bother you, I would just visually check to see every thing looks ok and cover up as normally done, pipes, wiring, etc, usually covered with no access when sheetrocking usually not a problem.

But any electrical junction boxes must remain accessible.

Do some careful measuring and diagramming; maybe take some photographs and apply the measurements to that. Then cover it up. If it becomes necessary to make an access you will know exactly where to cut. Then at that time decide whether to repair or leave an access. It could be twenty years.
