what is the device holding my shower doors in?

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this or not. If not, please point me in the right direction..........

I have shower doors with aluminum fittings over tile. The uprights are held in place with small round head fittings, under a thick gasket.

What is the best way to get them out of there? I'm taking down the shower door way.

they are usually screwed on. If you don't see the screw right away then maybe its covered with some sort of cap that you can pry off.
