Round Wet spot on the Ceiling

I have a two level frame house. We noticed a wet spot of about 4 inches in diameter in the ceiling of lower level. The dry wall in that area is so wet and if I touch it, it moves up and down like a wet card board paper. The shape is almost circular. There is a bath room on top of that and several months ago we had a over flow in the toilet and that caused water leaking into the lower level. But after that incident, we did not see any marks on the ceiling.

Can some one suggest me what needs to be done about it.

Well, since you have a wet spot, cut it out and see what is causing it. Fix the problem then repair the ceiling.

If it was related to the overflow it would likely be dried up by now. You can't fix the drywall while it's wet. As tightcoat said, you need to fix the leak first, then the ceiling.

btw - welcome to the forums!
