My husband removed the popcorn ceiling in my daughters room but slightly damaged the underlying ceiling surface. He's not sure if he can fix it properly himself so had the ceiling tested for asbestos after he removed it. Turns out it was positive for Asbestos. If we call for someone to fix the damaged ceiling, will we need to get someone who is trained in Asbestos removal, or is it okay to get just anyone now that the popcorn ceiling is gone?http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...s/confused.gif

Asbestos removal/abatement regulations and enforcement can vary greatly in different locales. Homeowners usually have more leeway than professionals. Since the asbestos is already gone - it should be a non issue.
