Thick beam in the way - I am stuck

Not sure if this the rite forum to post, please move to the appropriate forum if not.
I ran two speaker wires when i was replacing my second floor subflooring and just left them there for the future connection. Now I opened up the ceiling to get to them and bring them down where they belong. Unfortunately I forgot a little detail - a 6x10 support beam that I didn't want to drill for the silly speaker wire, now I am facing a dilemma. Should I just forget all about it, put the piece of the drywall back where I cut it out or try hiding the wires in the drywall (probably not suppose to do it) running it just below the beam?
Thanks!

That's what they make 12" long bell hanger bits for. A couple of 1/4" holes a foot apart shouldn'r affect the integraty of a solid wood beam if they are in the middle. If it isn't a solid wood beam post back.

thanks Ray,
how bad is my idea of hiding the wires. They are in fact about 1/4 thick so should be able to hide them, hey?
