Popcorn ceiling

We live in a single wide mobile home. Our ceilings our popcorned and we hate it. My spouse hates it more than I because they are are impossible to clean. Without tearing ceilings down and applying new drywall, what can I do? I have learned that the walls are not drywalled just some very thin plywood like material. Are the ceilings the same?

How old is your MH?

The older MHs normally had paneling on the walls and cellotex on the ceiling. I think it was in the 80's when most started to switch to 1/4" drywall on the walls with a harder type of board on the ceiling. I don't know what the ceiling material consists of but it has a plastic like finish on it. I don't think there is much you can do it other than replace or paint it. How often does she need to clean the ceiling? wouldn't painting it be easier?
