Best Drywall Primer/Sealer - 1st Timer :)

So I'm taping/sanding our soon-to-be baby's room and have a question on primer/sealers. It is my first time playing with drywall, and with a 110 year old house...it was sure fun when there isn't a single square angle in the room!

Anyways, its coming time to prime/seal the bare drywall. I'm wondering what you pro's would reccomend for a good primer/sealer...

After some googling, it looks like there are a number of good brands out there. These are the ones I have locally:
1. Kilz Premium - Water based
2. Zinnser Bullsey 123 Primer/Sealer - Water Based
3. SW Drywall Primer - Latex Based

What do you pro's reccomend? I'm not dead set on these either if there is something better out there. I'll only need about two gallons, so I don't mind buying the good stuff.

Thanks!!!

The waterbased Kilz doesn't have a good reputation so I'd shy away from it.

Either of the other two should be fine but basically the primer should be picked both on the basis of the substrate [unpainted drywall] and the top coat you intend to use.

Be sure to wipe or brush off the majority of the sanding dust - it's hard for primer to adhere to dust

I use Zinnser primers exclusively and the oil based 123 is the one I use for sealing. Thus, # 2 on your list would be my choice. While the SWP primer should be fine as well, I have no experience with it.

Thanks for the replies! Any chance the water-based 123 would work well? My head tends to swim when I use oil based primers or paints. Plus this is going to be the baby's room...so I'm trying to stay lowish-VOC.

Actually, just went to Zinnser's (Rustoleums) website...they don't mention an oil based 123.
RustOleum.com

The only Zinnser Bullseye 123 products are the standard Bullseye 123, and the 123 Plus....both water based. The only oil-based products are the Bullseye Oil-Base Primer, and Oderless Oil-Base.
What gives? Have I breathed in too many oil-based fumes? Sometimes I hate when companies give you too many options.

Nah, I'm sure I'm the one who messed up and am not remembering what I used the last time - 123 will be fine for you.

Oil base primers are only needed in extreme cases like water stains. Latex primer should be fine for new drywall.

Yeah, I'm not sure what I was thinking - latex is the right choice here and 123 would be a good choice.

I threw out the part about oil based 123 only because I thought I had been using it but it apparently does not exist
