Repairing gap between plaster wall and ceiling

I decided to remove the popcorn texture from my bathroom ceiling. While working near a corner my putty knife went easily through the wall, revealing a space between the ceiling and wall. It's not a large space, but I'm completely lost at how to fix this. The walls are plaster - I'm pretty sure the ceiling is too.

Thanks for any advice!

How wide is the crack? caulking will work if it isn't too wide.
