Unhappy want to hang a new wall mounted coat rack in the hallway

Hi

Want to know how I should fix my new wall mounted coat rack in the hallway.
I had only two holes one on either side on the top for hanging this coat rack on the wall.
I am a bit worried whether the wall would support this coat rack since it's built of ash wood. Most likely the wall is a plaster board wall.

Should I get a professional to fix this coat rack.

The coat rack I bought is the following

Coat Racks| Wall Mounted Coat Rack| Coat Rack | Coat Rack with Storage Shelf

Any advice would be much appreciate.

Mel

You'd want your screws to go into the studs, so locating the studs would be the first order of business. If you have predrilled holes located on the unit, you won't necessarily be able to use them because that may not be where your studs are located! You could also surely add a couple additional screws somewhere (like behind the drawers) if you feel 2 would not be sufficient. But you would probably want to use cabinet screws, which are larger diameter and have a washer style head. 2 of them would likely be stronger than 4 smaller screws, such as drywall screws.

Adding wall anchors is another possibility, but you would want to be sure you use the kind that are rated for 75lbs or so, not the light duty kind.

2 ways... a deep scan studfinder (battery operated) or a magnetic studfinder.
