I read on this site about using drywall adhesive as an option to using drywall nails. What impact does that have on quality? How permanent is the glue? Is one adhesive better than the other? If it is as good as nails and eliminates the taping and mudding process, why would anyone still use nails? Thanks.

With 20+ years as a drywall/plaster contractor, people do use adhesives only, but IMO, they're nuts. Also, around here, except in very limited circumstances such as some expansion joint applications, it is a code violation. Even when it is allowed, the process is to fasten as usual then after the alloted time, remove the fasteners. Don C.

Drywall screws or Drywall nails, I feel is the only option I would consider, I have never heard of the glue option, I would not use. Don C is correct.
