I am living in a house that is 35 years old. The nails are pushing out of the sheet rock/plaster. What or how is the best way to re-install the nails and cover them to keep them from coming back out?

Put a drywall screw in above and below each popped nailhead. The screws should be one to two inchs from the nail. pound the nail back in and mud/spakle. Don C.
