Wall juts out in corner

In one corner of my bedroom, the corner sticks out. Almost like an iinverted corner. I don't know if it is structural or just was done to add decor but I want the corner to be square. Any idea why that would have been done? I'm tempted to cut a hole in the wall but don't want to if it can't be changed. Any ideas?
I can send pic if anyone can help.

Welcome to the forums!

pics might help - http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...-pictures.html

I doubt the jut out is there just for the heck of it. There is probably plumbing or HVAC duct work behind the wall. When was your house built?

Drywall is pretty easy to repair if you want to cut a hole to look. That said, Mark's thought process is the same as mine that there's likely something in there.

More when we see the pics
