Sanding walls and ceiling.

In the process of sanding joint compound using 120 grit and intend following up w/ 220. I may decide to texture the walls and ceiling; if so, would sanding to a 220 finsh still be recommended?

Thank you, Dave!

Decided to follow thru and finish w/ the 220, at least then have an option. I'll check w/ local paint store to determine if I can apply coat of primer/sealer and can I texture if I decide to do so in a few weeks. Fiqure I may have to apply another coat of primer before applying final color.

There's no need to sand with 220 grit. Normally 120 is good enough although 150 grit would be ok. Latex primer/paint is coarse enough it will fill all the sanding scratches.

Texture can be applied to either primed or bard drywall. Texture needs primer even if it's applied over primer!

Really appreciate the info. local paint store clerk was not sure. Bout 75% near completing the sanding and will stay with the 120. Again, thank you for the info!!
