need to replace a section of a wall
The window in my garage has detoriorated and allowed water and moisture into the wall. I have removed the interior wall panel to access the studs and the insulation to find that the studs have rotted away as well. So now I need to replace approximately 4 feet by 8 feet section of wall including the studs, interior wall panel, and probably the exterior wall planel that attaches to the siding, as well as the bottom part of my window frame and window.
I have done some research and found how to cut the studs and replace the rotted section. I also found the tool to remove a portion of the vinyl siding on the exterior to access the wall. I think I have a basic idea on how to fix the wall. I still have to research the how to remove and re-install the window.
Has anyone done this before that can offer me advice? This is my first time attempting a project like this.
Thanks

Also I was debating on eliminating the windows completely and closing it off. How difficult is it to match new siding to my existing siding? For clarification I am not asking about matching colors. I guess the question pertains more to how one panel of siding attaches to another with the grooves. Are they all generic or do different manufacturers have different grooves?

well I replaced the studs, exterior wall panel and re-secured the siding to the new section of the exterior panel...as far as the window goes I decided not to do a regular window because I do not care about being able to open a window in my barn so I put in a section of plexi-glass where the window was after making a new "rough frame". I sealed the inside of the the plexi-glass to the "rough frame". Tomorrow I need to make some sort of trim to attach to the exterior and seal that to prevent any water from going behind the siding thus creating the same problem i just fixed.
This should be fun because clear I am not Bob Villa.
