Dividing a room with sloped ceiling?

I would like to divide up my family/living room because it's just too big and an extra bedroom is always nice. How difficult is it to install walls with a sloped ceiling?

Here are pics. I would like to add a wall at the left of the entrance.

Welcome to the forums!

It shouldn't be an issue once you get your angle figured out. It's best to secure the stud wall directly to the floor and ceiling [remove carpet/drywall]. If the wall winds up between rafters, you'll need to remove enough drywall to insert nailers between the rafters to attach the top plate to.

do you think the 2ft walls (part of the rafter?) are load bearing? I'd rather knock them down than figure out what to put in each little "nook"

Bowling alley?

I hear you, this looks like it could become a couple nice rooms.
