wallpaper nightmare please help
I'm painting a kitchen all that is covered and wallpaper I tried to remove the wallpaper in the wall behind it started to crumble in spots. Or backing of the wall paper was left on the wall. and when I tried to remove it with stripper it would take pieces of the sheetrock or plaster behind it so I need to leave the wallpaper and fix the wall so that I can paint it as it is. I need to know what steps to take to prep the wall for paint

Welcome to the forums
Wallpaper can be a nightmare but you know that already
I'd keep removing it and then repair the drywall when you're done: prime any exposed gypsum with Zinnser Gardz primer, skim coat with joint compound to smooth the wall (some sanding of the joint compound may be necessary), prime and paint.
Leaving the wallpaper up can lead to adhesion problems down the road.

If at all feasible, anything that's loose needs to be removed. A coat of oil base primer or Zinnser's Gardz will help to seal and stabilize what you have. You'll then need to repair the walls as needed with joint compound, sand, prime and it should be ready for paint.
How old is your house? a pic or two might be helpful - http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...-pictures.html
