Please help!! Drywall problem

I recently took down my TV that was hanging on the wall, and I used a cable organizer to hide the cables. When I went to remove the cable organizer the sticky residue on the back of the organizer removed a fairly large strip on the top layer of the drywall. What do I do to fix this problem?

Remove any loose paper. You might want to hit it with some oil based primer to make sure it does not bubble when you
cover it with joint compound.

If it is not too big, you could try some Spackle.

Scoring the surrounding paper will help minimize the amount of paper that will peel off.
As noted, the exposed gypsum needs to be primed. Zinnser's Gardz is the only latex primer I would recommend, most any oil base primer will work. If the gypsum isn't sealed, the moisture in the j/c or latex primer can cause the paper around the edges to peel some more
