drywall texturing
I have installed, and taped, new drywall in some rooms. I intend to hand texture after I finish the floors. I have read, and been told, it would be better to apply primer/sealer prior to texturing and then again after texturing prior to painting. Is this a better approach than texturing before applying the primer/sealer?

IMO there is very little benefit from priming prior top texture. The only thing the primer does is make the texture dry at an even rate. Without primer, the texture will dry quicker over the raw gypsum paper and slower over all the spots that have mud on them. I've never noticed any difference in the final product.
What type of texture do you intend to use?

Certain areas may need more help in a Level 4 and always Level 5 (or skim-coating): National Gypsum Company, Drywall, Cement Board, Gypsum Board, Finishing Products
