stucco match issue with ceiling

Hi All.

I am new and don't have any construction experience or handy man experince.
So I am looking advice for best possible solution which somebody else can do
I live in Toronto area,Canada if someone locals read and want to take this job.

Due to some minor leakge in my ceiling, I got my stucco repaired with sponge technique. It looks okay but issue is color and texture do not match. So if I paint will it be better or take out all stucco and make it smooth? I want to sell home and some people are complaining about it. I am attaching photos and your help is appreciated.

Thanks
Sam

Welcome to the forums Sam!

The best way to make ceiling texture blend is to overspray a larger area..... but that is messy and requires a lot of prep covering up everything.

I wasn't able to see the issue in the pic but generally water stains need to be sealed with a solvent based primer to keep the stain from bleeding thru the new paint. Touch up can be iffy depending on how old the paint job is. I'd oil prime the area in question and then top coat with your ceiling paint. If it's still noticeable after a few days - plan on repainting the entire ceiling.

You said you "I got my stucco repaired" - does that mean you hired this done? If so, I would have the contractor come back and make it right.
