Molly has loosened up...

I took something off the wall at a friends house, as she wants to paint the small wall behind. I noticed behind that the molly and screw are very loose in the drywall. So I said ill spackle it, sand and paint but she wants the picture in the exact same spot due to it being centered (not higher not lower either). Anyways, next to the screw hole there are 2 other screw holes in very close proximity so when i took the molly out it made a larger hole (the hole the molly made as well as expanding to the other 2 holes). That being said since she wants it in the same spot, is the spackle strong enough to hold a new molly and screw or is there something better that should be used? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forums! Looks like you will be relegated to using an expanding toggle to hang the picture as the sheetrock is probably too degraded to use with plastic mollies.

BTW one more question what are your thoughts on those plastic pop expanding toggles vs the steel?

I have had good success with them. The toggles are more user friendly, but if you ever get the hang of the plastic expanding ones, they are a charm.
