Matching a new wall texture to existing adjacent walls.
I've been searching for a few days now for a good "how to" on match existing wall textures to a new wall, but cannot seem to find a real good how to that replicates what is on my walls. I built a pantry in my kitchen over the weekend and have the drywall up. I am going to start taping the next few nights, but I don't know what to do from there. I really want the pantry walls to match the rest of the kitchen/house wall texture, but all I seem to find on the internet are knockdown texture, popcorn and orange peel types. I took some picture of the walls in the hallway and our bedroom for reference. Can anyone identify the texture "style" and point me in the right direction on matching? Thanks

Welcome to the forums Justin!
Is the pantry a separate rm or is it open to the kitchen?
A heavy orange peel or splatter coat sprayed with a hopper would be close. Rolling thin joint compound with a short nap roller [3/8"-1/2"] might also come close.

It looks like it is rolled on as marks suggests or maybe it was stomped with very thin mud and maybe a rag or gunny sack on a board. Possibly there is aggregate in the mud but I can't tell for sure. You probably have some scraps left from the drywall project. Experiment a little and have some fun.

As tightcoat mentioned, best is to practice on scrap material and then move to the actual surface once you're achieving the look you desire.
