Exclamation Kind of putty to buy?

I had a picture on the living room wall but I removed it but I saw 3 holes now. What kind of putty or something else to cover it?

Likely all you need is a spackle type product. Depends on the size of the holes. Check with your local hardware store.

Just remember spackle. Generically speaking, it's all spackle, and it will be in the general vicinity of paint, caulk, etc., but there are a few different weights, depending on the repair, so, as Gunguy said, stop by your local hardware, tell them what size holes you have, and they will fix you up. You might want a small plastic trowel to go with it, but it sounds like for what you have you can use a popsicle stick or a similar size crap of wood.

Spackle or spackling comes in small containers and is used for filling nail holes and minor dings in drywall. It's usually applied with a putty knife. If the hole is big enough to stick your finger in it would be better to use joint compound and drywall tape. As noted, most any hardware or paint store should be able to help you get the right product.

If you post a pic we can better evaluate exactly what needs to be done - http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...-pictures.html

Putty knife; so that's what you call them! Darn, talk about mental block; it's heck getting old! I got to that point last night and couldn't come up with "putty knife", so finally decided to call it a trowel, and figured that the guy at the hardware knew what was needed.
