How to eradicate definitely mold on the walls of my bedroom that keeps on coming

Hi everybody!

I am new on doityourself and I hope I am posting this thread in the right part of the forum.

I have, on the walls of my bedroom, some persistent mold that I cannot eradicate..Here is a list of solutions I have been trying, all being temporary successful but not definitive:

1) Washing the walls with disinfectant soap -> wall clean but mold coming back after 3 days

2) Hire someone to put strong chemicals -> wall perfectly clean (and all flat smelling chemicals) but mold back after 1 week (though not much)

3) Using a portable non electric dehumidifier -> not making any noticeable change

4) Using an electric dehumidifier + constant heating -> Mold stop growing BUT does not eliminate the existing mold

So my current solution is to use a bleaching agent every time mold come back and constantly use a dehumidifier and a heating system. However, this solution is expensive and I cannot leave the house for a long period.

Thus, does anybody have an ingenious CHEAP and DEFINITIVE solution?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks a lot in advance!

Mold needs moisture...you may have a source of moisture that you will need to find and eliminate. Depending on the construction of the home, there may be massive mold in the walls and it is just coming through to the surface. Can you give us more details on how the home is made.

This is primarily a North American site...but if you can give details..the methods of mold remediation are all pretty similar.

With Gunguy45 on this, the walls need to be opened up, investigated and the source of the moisture eliminated. Right now, you are merely scratching clean the surface. Like your lawn, you cut the grass and it grows back. All you are doing is addressing the top part of the mold. The real mold is in the wall.

Remove a 6"x6" (15cm) square of drywall from your wall. Inspect the back of the drywall. Take a flashlight and a small mirror and probe the inside of the wall. Let us know what you find. As a precaution, wear a respirator or mask of some sort so you don't breathe in the mold spores.
