taping drywall

I have a very narrow wall,3.5" wide. It is corner, bead installed. How do you tape it properly?

An outside corner with a corner bead? You normally don't use tape on a corner bead, just mud.

I'm guessing that you are describing an inside corner... 3 1/2" of wall, then an outside corner, and the outside corner has a metal corner bead installed on it.

You would apply the tape on the inside corner as you normally would. A corner knife works good for that. Then for your second coat, you'd coat one side of the inside corner and one side of the outside corner in the same motion with a 4" knife. If you have the time, it works well to just do one side of each corner and let them dry before attempting to do the other side. That way you can scrape off any dry lumps with your knife, and you don't have to worry so much about dragging your knife through mud that you finally got "perfect" and messing it up.

Just to add, paper tape should be your choice, not the mesh stuff.
