I have a wall that seperates the kitchen and the dining room, and I want to cut it in half. It is not a load bearing wall, a contractor verified that for me. I'm not sure which is the best way to do this. Should I knock the wall completely out, and build it back, or can I just cut it in half ? I'm wanting to put a bar on the top and then line the rest with cabinets.

Thanks,
David

Hello,

I would use a sawsall and cut it in half. I don't think you'd need to remove the whole thing first.

Good luck

chrisdaman,

Thanks for the suggestion. I really didn't think I was going to have to knock the whole wall down, but I just wanted to make sure.

Thanks,
