How do I recreate this texture pattern on my ceiling?

I like this texture pattern on my kitchen ceiling (and other rooms of my house) but I have taken down an overhead light frame box and now have an area that is not textured. Is there a way to recreate this pattern or even find it? It is a repeating pattern that appears to have been stamped or rolled on when the house was built.

Welcome to the forums!

I'd try using a shaggy roller with some thinned down joint compound. Applying it with a sponge should work on small areas.

Thanks for the reply. The area is about 3 ft by 6 ft, so would you use the shaggy roller? Or sponge too? Any particular type of sponge?

On an area that size a roller would be easier/quicker. On small repairs a sponge often works well, I like the fat porous type sponges - I don't know if they are natural sponges or just made to look like them.
