Cutting into wall with electric outlet
Thought I would post a new topic just in case anyone searches for the same thing in the future.
Instead of tearing down a load bearing wall, I want to just extend the bar area and keep the top support and bottom. If I pull the electric from the attic, What would be the best way to cut out the piece from the bar area to the end of the wall.
Support the bar area and then add additional 2x4 to support the top portion after the wall is cut?
Area is 30" tall currently its 38-39" wide would like to extend to 75"
Sorry about the horrible picture quality I think my phone was still wet from weather.

Alex.... I've read your post several times and I can't quite figure out what you are asking.
A new picture with a larger view would probably be helpful.
I'm guessing that receptacle in the wall under the cabinet needs to be removed ?
You need to open it up and see how many cables are in it. It may be one receptacle in the middle of a string of receptacles which means you'll have some repair wiring to do.

I believe Alex is saying that the area you see with the cabinet is a wall that he wants to pull out, but only the (vertical) middle section as to the right of the wall is a bar area (which he wants to span til it hits the perpendicular wall to the left). That section of wall also has an outlet, but I doubt that's the focus of his question. I think he just wants to know the best way to take out the middle section of the wall.
PS: I don't know the answer; I could guess but would rather let people who know something about this answer him.
Edit: Looking at the pic from his other thread, if you rotate the following pic 90deg counter-clockwise, I believe that bar area is the same area with the cabinets we see in his first post on the other side (to the right). He just wants to open up that space to span the whole wall.
