How much does it cost to fix a hole in the wall?
I was practicing golf and i accidentally hit the club into the wall of my basement causing a hole. It's about less than a cm wide but 4-5 inches long. How much would it cost to fix it to hire a skilled worker? I just need an approximate, thank you very much

Welcome to the forums!
Labor prices vary too much to give a price sight unseen but the material cost is minimal. Do you have any interest in making the repairs yourself? It isn't overly difficult and we can guide you thru it.

Prob less than $10 in materials depending on if you have a putty knife and matching paint. Does it need to match exactly...are you renting? Looks like there is some water staining or something right in that area...so maybe an exact match isn't too important?
If someone had to come out there just for that job...I'd guess they would charge $50-100. If a handyman happens to be working next door and you have some paint...maybe $25 or so.

Yes...about $100...paint matching will be an issue. Btw...I'm talking USD...so might be more. All depends on if someone has to drive 20 miles, then go to a paint store, then drive back...etc.

Thats what I said at first...prob $10 depending on if you needed the paint to match and if you had some of the needed tools.
Spackle/joint compound and a putty knife, wet the area lightly, esp inside the damaged area. Pack with spackle, smooth off, lightly sand the area after it dries completely, paint.
You may have an issue with torn paper...which would require a bit more work. DON'T peel it off, carefully cut loose paper with a razor knife.

Also, take the heel of the drywall knife and press the damage in a little before applying the mud. I'd use a little drywall tape to cover the cut - that will insure the repair won't crack. I have, in a pinch, just used whatever paper was handy [as long as it wasn't too thin] in place of the drywall tape. Basically you apply the mud then press the tape into the wet mud and smooth it off removing the excess mud with the knife. You'll probably need 2 coats of mud to make it look right.
