Removing a decorative window from an interior wall??

My livingroom has a see through window in the interior wall between the livingroom and entry way.

My walls are sheetrock and wallpaper. The window is probably 4 x 2. I'd like to remove it and make this a solid wall but how do I do that?

What I mean is, how do I make that part of the wall match the rest of the wall? I'm not sure I can find the same the wall paper.

I thought about tearing out the window and sheetrock, putting up new sheetrock and covering it in that airstone stick on stone but I really don't want a rock/stone wall there either.

Ideas?

This is an example of what the window looks like. It's set into the sheetrock.

I'm not sure I can. It's a mobile home. The wallpaper is white and slightly textured.

Forgive me if this is a dumb question but, can you steam wallpaper off of mobile homes walls?

No, MH wallpaper is part of the 1/4" drywall, instead of the paper face that normal drywall has it has a vinyl print covering. It can be painted.

Sometimes MHs use odd ball framing, instead of 2x4s it could be 1x4s, 2x2s even 1x2s. Basically you need to remove the window, frame up what fits and then install drywall. Probably the hardest part will be texturing the patch to match the rest. Laminating the entire wall with drywall is another option.

You might try contacting a MH supply house and see if it's possible to buy those types of drywall panels, the color probably wouldn't match but the texture should.

We had a contractor here last week remodeling the bathroom. Part of me wants to call him back and let him handle it but it's only a wall. I can do it! Right?

I hate mobile home walls, hate with a passion. Very cheap construction in my opinion.

Some MHs are built better than others but there are lots of little things done differently that many folks don't realize. Most things can be diyed but a lot depends on your skill level [it can be learned ] and motivation. One of the reasons I diy is to keep my grubby paws on my cash

I'm right there with you the bathroom needed to be done and we had no idea how to do it. It looks wonderful but man it still hurts just thinking about what it cost.

I am so cheap.
