Removing old glue from drywall

Is there an easy way to remove the glue from my drywall? I just took the tiles off my kitchen walls. the glue that remains is smooth to the touch do i need to remove it to put up new tile. thank you

HI,

If the old glue is smooth, and really well stuck on there, it should be ok to leave it on. ONLY do this if the glue is firmly attached to the wall.
