Knockdown texture issue

I have been scraping popcorn off off my ceilings, and then applying a knockdown texture. However, I have been running into issues with the knockdown texture peeling right off the tape lines when I knock it down? It either falls off, or peels away and hangs down. It doesn't do it where there inst a tape line? And it doesn't do it on every tape line or the whole tape line, just in places. I have never seen anything like it and I cant find any info online about it. Any body have any clues?

I am waiting about 10 mins before knocking down.

Welcome to the forums!

Is there any dust on the ceiling prior to shooting the texture?
Water may have degraded the j/c some, if that's the case, primer should help.

Bathroom dark spot in the ceiling

My neighbor's bathroom pipes were leaking again and I saw that the ceiling section of it is dark spots and the smooth instead of texture. Somebody will go to fix it. Will he remove the section of the bad drywall and put the new drywall again? or no

I know this is almost an impossible question to answer without inspecting the wall however, based on this picture, does this appear to be load bearing? I want to remove the wall marked in the red. I tend to think that it is not because it looks like a built out closet.
