Hi there first post here and I'm hoping that someone can help with this project. I want to add an opening into a wall that separates my kitchen and living room. The opening will not go all the way to the floor. This wall has a cold air return down low and I also know that to the left of the return is the warm air return cavity for the second floor. Would this wall be load bearing? Is it common for walls with return air vents and cavities to be load bearing? The ceiling joists run perpendicular to the wall so this is why I think it is load bearing. Please see attached pics

As the title says, I'm in an odd situation. I'm new to drywall, and I was sawing a hole for a new electrical box for ethernet and coax. I draw the lines to cut on, and start cutting. It won't go in, so against my better judgement, I hammer it in. So 7" away from the other box it goes into a stud, that stud shouldn't have been there, Can you guys give me any tips at getting it out? It's really deep in the stud.
