budget - covering up window frames

Hi all,

just a question for some feed back
i m currently doin some work on my house and tryin to cut some cost and need some help if possible

Im removing a window and was given a quotation for extration of the window and the frame
has any1 cut corners on this by not remove the frame and either cementing it or making a box to cover it up?

lookin for some feed back on this if possible

my bad its actually a sliding door as per pic attached.

so i m thinking of cementing the whole frame rather then hacking the fram off the wall which will then help on my budget

You should be able to lift up the sliding doors and then pop them out of the track. You'll see screws that hold the frame in place. There may also be caulking along the perimeter that should be cut. Once the door frame is removed, frame up a stud wall and cover it to match the existing walls.
