Load bearing wall or not?
The kitchen and living were separated by a half wall. I removed it. Now I want to remove the remaining wall if it isnt load bearing. There looks to be a header, but the box sounds hollow.
I went to the attic and snapped a pic of what is happening up there. There just seems to be one lonely 2x4 coming straight down from the roof onto that wall

I'm having a hard time orientating my view in the attic.
I don't see the register with arrow below near end of wall in attic.
Regardless, I would never say 100% you can remove a wall.
Looks like odds are in your favor. When a wall runs parallel to joists, it is normally not load bearing. You do have roof purloins and that could be an issue.
I'd consider removing only lower part of wall (yellow).
Run a header or beam across where wall is now. You would have to repair gap in ceiling anyway where wall was removed. May as well fill that gap with a beam.
You'll get more advice. There's some guys here very good at this.

OK,
So in my attic picture above, yellow line is pretty much the wall.
I'm sticking with the beam or double header idea (wall to wall). It does things to your advantage:
- Gets rid of wall
- No engineering required
- Saves repairing gap at ceiling
- Header could have decorative finish applied, and size would not be obtrusive
I'd wait for a few more opinions.
