Ideas for sealing spaces between walls and ceiling?

I live in a pretty old apartment and I'm noticing spiders are coming through very small cracks between the walls and ceiling (the cracks are barely visible, but I've seen the spiders go in and out!).

Does anyone have any suggestions on a way to "seal" these spaces? I thought about possibly caulk or silicone, but I'm afraid it wouldn't look very good/be really obvious.

Any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated!!!

If the landlord refuses to fix the problem and with his written, signed permission use acrylic caulk, let set a few minutes, then wipe with a damp sponge to remove all but the caulk in the crack and smooth the caulk in the crack. Applying painters taper first will help keep your line neat also.

While I've never used tape when caulking - the blue or green tape will remove better than the old standard white painter's tape.

If the white caulking would be unsightly and you don't intend to paint it you could use a clear acrylic latex caulk. It goes on milky but pretty much dries clear. A damp sponge or rag helps you to smooth it out and remove any excess. Don't use a dripping wet sponge as it will degrade the caulking.

I call the blue stuff painters tape and the beige/white masking tape. Follow Mark's tape suggestions. That is what I meant. Also use a five gallon bucket and rinse the sponge often so you don't track removed caulking back on.

Mark, if you ever saw me freehand a caulk line you'd know why I sometimes use tape.
